ABSTRACT In response to renewed interest in analytical tools that address complex policy problems and move beyond linear‐rational approaches in policy appraisal, Social Multi‐Criteria Evaluation (SMCE) integrates participatory approaches with multi‐criteria analysis (MCA), thereby incorporating specialised knowledge and diverse social values and ...

Local newforms for generic representations of unramified even unitary groups I: Even conductor case
In this paper, we define compact open subgroups of quasi-split even unitary groups for each even non-negative integer and establish the theory of local newforms for irreducible tempered generic representations with a certain condition on the central ...

On products of irreducible characters
Let G be a finite group and let ? be a character of G. It’s well known that the product of ?? is also a character of G, where ? is the complex conjugate character of ?. Thus, ?? may be expressed as an integer linear combination of some irreducible characters of G. There are some research articles on products of irreducible characters to classify finite

Learning as Compost: Reorienting Evaluation in an Era of Authoritarian Drift
ABSTRACT We synthesize insights from seven cases to interrogate a central assumption of the learning function of evaluation: Learning can be strengthened through better design, integration, or alignment with accountability systems. Taking the issue's conceptual framework seriously, the essay reflects what the cases reveal about the nature of learning ...

In the paper, properties of antisymmetric orbit functions are reviewed and further developed. Antisymmetric orbit functions on the Euclidean space $E_n$ are antisymmetrized exponential functions.

Addressing the challenges inherent in dry reforming of methane (DRM), this paper focuses on the structural design and performance optimization of Ni‐based catalysts. The modulation strategies for DRM are systematically reviewed across four dimensions: the micromorphology of active metals, metal‐support interactions, electronic modifications by ...

Effective Altruism and Care Ethics
ABSTRACT Effective altruism (EA) has received some of its most vocal criticisms from supporters of care ethics. In this article I take a comparative approach to determine whether a compelling critique of EA can emerge from care ethics at the ethical level, and more generally how much common ground can be found between the two.

Picky elements, subnormalisers, and character correspondences
We gather evidence on a new local-global conjecture of Moretó and Rizo on values of irreducible characters of finite groups. For this we study subnormalisers and picky elements in finite groups of Lie type and determine them in many cases, for unipotent ...

Modularly irreducible characters and normal subgroups.
The following is shown: Let \(G\) be a finite \(p\)-solvable group, where \(p\) is an odd prime. Suppose that \(\chi\in\text{Irr}(G)\) lifts an irreducible \(p\)-Brauer character. If \(G/N\) is a \(p\)-group, then we prove that the irreducible constituents of \(\chi_N\) lift irreducible Brauer characters of \(N\).

Path Degeneracy and Applications
ABSTRACT In this work, we relate girth and path‐degeneracy in classes with sub‐exponential expansion, with explicit bounds for classes with polynomial expansion and proper minor‐closed classes that are tight up to a constant factor (and tight up to second order terms if a classical conjecture on existence of g $g$‐cages is verified). As an application,
