Clues to the Origin of Jovian Outer Irregular Satellites from Reflectance Spectra
Visible/near-infrared narrowband spectroscopy (dispersion per element ∼ 6 Å) was obtained of the Jovian irregular satellites JVI Himalia, JVII Elara, JVIII Pasiphae, JIX Sinope, JX Lysithea, JXI Carme, JXII Ananke, and JXVII Callirrhoe in 2006, 2009, and

Near-Infrared Photometry of the Irregular Satellites of Jupiter and Saturn [PDF]
We present JHKs photometry of 10 Jovian and 4 Saturnian irregular satellites, taken with the Near-InfraRed Imager (NIRI) at the 8-m Gemini North Observatory on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. The observed objects have near-infrared colors consistent with C, P and D-type asteroids, although J XII Ananke and S IX Phoebe show weak indications of possible water ...

Irregular Satellites of the Planets: Capture Processes in the Early Solar System [PDF]
All four giant planets in the Solar system possess irregular satellites, characterized by large, highly eccentric and/or inclined orbits that are distinct from the nearly circular, uninclined orbits followed by the regular satellites. This difference can
