We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Irreversible Electroporation [PDF]
Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a predominantly nonthermal ablative technology that uses high-voltage, low-energy DC current pulses to induce cell death. Thermal ablative technologies such as radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, and cryoablation have several applications in oncology but have limitations that have been established. IRE has

Time-reversal invariance and irreversibility in time-asymmetric quantum mechanics [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to analyze the concepts of time-reversal invariance and irreversibility in the so-called 'time-asymmetric quantum mechanics'. We begin with pointing out the difference between these two concepts.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

In this study, the exergy analysis of a CO2 (R744) two-phase ejector was performed using a 1D model for both single and double choking conditions. The impact of the back pressure on the exergy destruction and exergy efficiencies was presented to evaluate

Popper on irreversibility and the arrow of time [PDF]
Popper challenges the mainstream account of irreversibility, which refers to thermodynamics, by putting forward three theses: (1) There are irreversible processes of wave-production.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Irreversibility Analysis and Numerical Simulation in a Finned-Tube Heat Exchanger Equipped with Block Shape Vortex Generator [PDF]
In this paper the effect of block shape Vortex Generators (VGs) on an air-water fin-tube heat exchanger has been studied experimentally using exergy analysis method.
