DISTRIBUTION OF DRY MATTER AND AMOUNT OF MINERAL ELEMENTS IN IRRIGATED AND NON-IRRIGATED OLIVE TREES

Acta Horticulturae, 1999
Soil water deficit modifies physiological and metabolic activity in olive trees and !eads to a different distribution of dry matter and nutrients absorbed by the roots. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of water deficit on the distribution of dry matter between the ifferent olive tree organs and the amount of minerai eIements absorbed ...

Effect of small irrigation amounts on the yield of wheat

Agricultural Water Management, 1983
Abstract Yields of dryland crops are governed by the moisture in the soil profile at seeding and by rainfall during the growing season. Occasionally limited amounts of water may also be available for irrigation. Field experiments were conducted over a period of 4 years on loamy sand and 3 years on sandy loam to study the effects of pre-seeding, post ...

Scheduling irrigation for peanuts with variable amounts of available water

Agricultural Water Management, 1993
Abstract Field experiments were conducted on sandy loam soils for two summer seasons to formulate optimum water management practices for peanuts growing under variable water supplies. Scheduling irrigation to supply adequate water during the moisture sensitive periods of flowering and yield formation stages, yet allowing moderate stress at vegetative

Influence of Large Amounts of Nitrogen on Nonirrigated and Irrigated Soybean

Crop Science, 2006
Nitrogen supplied by N2 fixation to soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] may not be sufficient to maximize yield. Field studies were conducted in 2002, 2003, and 2004 on Sharkey clay soil (very‐fine, smectitic, thermic Chromic Epiaquert) at Stoneville, MS (33°26′ N lat).

METHODS, AMOUNTS, AND TIMING OF SPRINKLER IRRIGATION FOR WINTER WHEAT

Transactions of the ASAE, 1997
The yield response of winter wheat to LEPA double-ended-sock, LEPA bubble and overhead spray sprinkler methods was measured in the Southern High Plains with four irrigation amount and two irrigation timing treatments. Irrigation amount treatments ranged from zero to 100% of soil water replenishment in 33% increments.
