Simulating Elevation and Infiltration in Level-Basin Irrigation
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 2000Several authors have reported that the spatial variability of infiltration and soil surface elevation can have a pronounced effect on surface irrigation performance. This study was conducted to assess the improvement of the predictive capability of a level-basin irrigation model when both sources of spatial variability are considered.

Current levels and composition profiles of microplastics in irrigation water
Environmental Pollution, 2023Land-based sources have been considered the most important sources of microplastic pollution to the coastal and marine environment. The number of research studies examining microplastic pollution in freshwater and inland water systems is increasing, but most research focuses on rivers, reservoirs, and lakes. This study investigated the spatial-temporal

Analytical Model of Level Basin Irrigation
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1989A zero‐inertia model is presented to study surface irrigation. The model is based on an analytical solution of the slightly modified zero‐inertia differential equations for level borders and does not contain any restrictions to the infiltration formula used.

Dimensionless Advance for Level-Basin Irrigation
Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1979Graphical solutions in dimensionless form are presented for the advance of an irrigation stream in a level basin. The solutions are based on the equations of continuity and momentum under zero-inertia conditions. Advance is shown both before and after the inflow stream has been cut off.

Irrigation of Small‐Level Basins in Egypt
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1991A major effort is under way to rehabilitate Egypt's vast irrigation system and to improve its management. To be effective, planning decisions must be in concert with irrigation needs at the farm level. Data on conventional farm irrigation practices provide an objective rationale for irrigation planning.

Levels and Levelers: Surveying Irrigation Canals in Medieval Valencia
Technology and Culture, 1968Irrigation has always acted as a stimulus, because of its technical requirements, to the development of mathematics and surveying and, because its practice is conducive to disputes, to the evolution of common law.' Thus, it is not surprising that irrigation agriculture in medieval Valencia led to the creation of specialized categories of experts whose ...

Abstract Field irrigation is the largest consumer of freshwater in the world covering 63 million hectares in the 1900s to 300 million hectares in the early 2000s to provide a multitude of benefits and ecosystem services to people around the globe, such as consistent food supply, higher crop productivity, and shared resource ...

Laser Leveling- A tool to increase irrigation efficiency at field level
Journal of Agricultural Engineering (India), 2004High irrigation efficiencies may be achieved if water is delivered uniformly across the field. Topography index (TI) was used to assest the smoothness of the land surface of the selected farmers fields of village Masauta, district Ghaziabad, V.P. during 2002-03.

On Water-Level Error Propagation in Controlled Irrigation Channels
Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006We consider the propagation of water-level errors in a controlled string of (identical) pools comprising an open-water irrigation channel. It is shown that water-level errors are amplified as they propagate upstream, whenever the feedback control scheme is decentralised and load-disturbance rejection is required in steady-state.

Level kegulation of ground water in irrigation
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 1973Level regulation of ground water is important for preventing the irrigated ground from becoming bogged up or salinated; the evaporation and the existence of a weakly permeable horizontal waterproof stratum are taken into account. The solution is found in an explicit form.
