The Effects of Concentration of Ponding-Infiltration Water on Water and Salt Movement in Soils

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao, 2021
【Background】 Seasonal water shortage in southern China has made water supply unable to meet the demand and using unconventional water as a supplementary resource for irrigation can partly relieve this pressure.

Impact of Drought and Changing Water Sources on Water Use and Soil Salinity of Almond and Pistachio Orchards: 1. Observations

open access: yesSoil Systems, 2021
Soil salinity increases when growers are forced to use higher salinity irrigation waters due to water shortages. It is necessary to estimate the impact of irrigation water on soil properties and conditions for crop growth to manage the effects of ...

Impacts of Saline Water Irrigation on Soil Respiration from Cotton Fields in the North China Plain

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Saline water irrigation has been widely used for crop production where agriculture is short of freshwater. However, information about the response of soil respiration to saline water irrigation is limited.

Comparative effects of saline water on yield and quality of potato under drip and furrow irrigation

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture, 2017
A field experiment was conducted at the Research Farm of the Precision Farming Development Centre, PAU, Ludhiana in the Rabi season of the year 2015–2016. The potato variety Kufri Pukhraj, was sown by following drip and furrow methods of irrigation. Five

Salinity impacts on irrigation water-scarcity in food bowl regions of the US and Australia

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2022
Irrigation water use and crop production may be severely limited by both water shortages and increased salinity levels. However, impacts of crop-specific salinity limitations on irrigation water scarcity are largely unknown.

Intravital Multimodal Imaging of Human Cortical Organoid Transplantation in a Mouse Model of Chronic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal intravital imaging platform enables longitudinal tracking of human cortical organoids transplanted into chronic stroke lesions. By combining surgical microscopy, MRI, bioluminescence imaging, and two‐photon fluorescence microscopy, the platform captures graft placement, viability dynamics, and cellular‐scale morphology in vivo, offering a ...

The effect of irrigation water salinity, soil salinity, and their interaction on the growth, yield, and some qualitative characteristics of the salicornia plant (Salicornia europaea L.)

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal and Industrial Plant Sciences
A pot experiment was conducted in Kirkuk Governorate/Hawija District/Al-Riyadh Sub-district during the 2025 growing season to study the effect of soil salinity levels (3.64, 7.04, 10.32, and 14.00 dS m-1) and Irrigation Water Salinity (4.00, 8.00, 12.00,

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.

Optimizing Irrigation and Drainage Practices to Control Soil Salinity in Arid Agroecosystems: A Scenario-Based Modeling Approach Using SaltMod

open access: yesAgronomy
Soil secondary salinization is a major limiting factor of sustainable agricultural production in arid and semi-arid irrigation zones, yet predictive tools for regional water–salt dynamics remain limited.
