Water‐Coupled Interfacial Modulation Enhances Photovoltaic and Pyroelectric Responses in Transparent Self‐Powered ZnO/NiO Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Direct water contact enhances the performance of a transparent self‐powered FTO/ZnO/NiO/AgNW/ZnO UV photodetector. Reduced surface reflection improves optical transmission, while an electric double layer at the ZnO/water interface modulates interfacial electrostatics and promotes charge separation.

Conformationally Switchable Copper(I) Complexes Amplify BODIPY Triplet Photosensitization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Coupling a structurally switchable Cu(I) complex to an organic light‐harvesting chromophore boosts photoinduced intersystem crossing via the transient formation of a Cu(II) intermediate. Spectroscopic, physical, computational, and photocatalytic studies support this unique new approach to solar energy upconversion.

Beyond Radical Emitters: Hot‐Exciton Electroluminescence From Singlet Diradicaloids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first hot‐exciton mechanism in a singlet diradicaloid is demonstrated in a polychlorinated Thiele hydrocarbon‐based organic light‐emitting transistor. Reverse intersystem crossing involving the T2 and bright singly excited states enables electroluminescence beyond the 25% spin‐statistical limit, leading to remarkable external quantum efficiency ...

Self‐Assembled Pt(II) Complexes Boost Up Stem Cell Proliferation and Accelerate Metamorphosis in Living Organisms

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Pt1, an organometallic platinum‐based complex, act as a modulator of redox homeostasis in cnidarians, regulating cellular functions and life‐cycle dynamics. In Nematostella vectensis, it mitigates oxidative stress, strengthens detox systems and accelerates development.

Aktivierung von Metallkomplexen durch Ultraschallwellen für eine gezielte Krebstherapie

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Ultrasound enables non‐invasive activation of metal‐based therapeutics deep within tumors. Acoustic cavitation can drive sonodynamic reactive oxygen species generation or mechanochemical metal–ligand bond dissociation, enabling controlled release of bioactive payloads.

Efficient Green Light‐Induced Photoclick Reactions Enabled by Triplet–Triplet Annihilation Photon Upconversion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A general strategy for 9,10‐phenanthrenequinone‐electron‐rich alkene (PQ‐ERA) photoclick reactions via triplet–triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA‐UC) under low‐intensity green light is reported. A TTA‐UC system of PdOEP (sensitizer) and DPA (annihilator) mixed with reactants generates UV/blue photons overlapping the absorption of PQ derivatives ...

Evaluating social protection mitigation effects on HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis through a mathematical modelling study

open access: yesScientific Reports
The global economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic, war in Ukraine, and worldwide inflation surge may have a profound impact on poverty-related infectious diseases, especially in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs).
