Abstract The transcription factor nuclear factor erythroid 2‐related factor 2 (NRF2) is considered the master regulator of the phase II antioxidant response. It controls a plethora of cytoprotective genes related to oxidative stress, inflammation, and protein homeostasis, among other processes.

This post hoc analysis of the PANORAMA‐HF paediatric heart failure trial evaluates the correlation of baseline and clinical changes in NT‐proBNP and clinical outcomes in children with heart failure due to left ventricular systolic dysfunction. This is the first prospective, randomized large‐scale study to demonstrate that changes in NT‐proBNP levels ...

FA is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, but the primary cause of death is heart disease which occurs in 60% of the patients. Several functions of frataxin have been proposed, but none of them fully explain why its deficiency causes the FA phenotypes nor why the most affected cell types are neurons and cardiomyocytes.

Transformer-Based Self-Supervised Learning for Histopathological Classification of Ischemic Stroke Clot Origin [PDF]
Background and Purpose: Identifying the thromboembolism source in ischemic stroke is crucial for treatment and secondary prevention yet is often undetermined. This study describes a self-supervised deep learning approach in digital pathology of emboli for classifying ischemic stroke clot origin from histopathological images.

Deep Learning-Driven Segmentation of Ischemic Stroke Lesions Using Multi-Channel MRI [PDF]
Ischemic stroke, caused by cerebral vessel occlusion, presents substantial challenges in medical imaging due to the variability and subtlety of stroke lesions. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) plays a crucial role in diagnosing and managing ischemic stroke, yet existing segmentation techniques often fail to accurately delineate lesions.

Abstract Objective Rural veterans have high obesity rates. Yet, little is known about this population's engagement with the Veterans Affairs (VA) weight management program (MOVE!). The study objective is to determine whether MOVE! enrollment, anti‐obesity medication use, bariatric surgery use, retention, and outcomes differ by rurality for veterans ...
