Abstract Background and Purpose Aberrant activation of type 2 ryanodine receptors (RyR2) causes lethal arrhythmias, such as catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT). Developing drugs that suppress RyR2 hyperactivation may be key to novel arrhythmia treatments.

Summary A 4‐year‐old, 6‐month pregnant, Welsh pony mare presented with severe acute clinical signs including depression, anorexia, pale mucous membranes, tachycardia with a grade 4/6 holosystolic murmur and moderate expiratory dyspnoea with diffuse wheezes. There was no evidence of placentitis or fetal distress.

Demographic and Clinical Features in Patients with Mitral Insufficiency of Ischemic Genesis
Myocardial infarction is often associated with ischemic mitral regurgitation. In most patients, ischemic mitral regurgitation develops gradually due to remodeling of the ischemic myocardium and changes in hemodynamics in the left ventricle. Ischemic mitral regurgitation is associated with heart diseases and mortality and is therefore considered an ...

ABSTRACT The ciliopathies are a group of genetic disorders caused by defective function of either the primary cilia (a large number) or the motile cilia (a much smaller number). These have been defined as diseases with mutations in genes encoding individual ciliary or cilia‐associated proteins.

Two Cases of Post‐Operative Coronary–Cameral Fistulas After Unusual Myectomy Procedures
Post‐surgical coronary–cameral fistulas (CCF) can occur after various myectomy procedures. Here we present one case of CCF after resection of the hypertrophied RV muscle bundle in double‐chambered RV (DCRV) and one case of CCF after subaortic web resection.

Impact of mitral insufficiency on reoperative coronary artery surgery in ischemic cardiomyopathy patients? [PDF]
To determine the impact of mitral insufficiency on survival after reoperative coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in ischemic cardiomyopathy patients. We retrospectively studied 891 (Initial 708, Redo 183) consecutive CABG patients (1993-2002) with ejection fraction (EF) 35% or less.mean age=67.0+/-10.5 yrs, men=77.1%, EF=26.4+/-7.4%, mean CCS=3.47+/-

Patients aged ≥ 80 years with atrial fibrillation underwent catheter ablation. At 2 years, the recurrence‐free survival rate was 85.8% in paroxysmal AF and 63.6% in persistent AF (p = 0.024), and periprocedural complications occurred in 12.0%, including severe complications in 3.3%.

AutoMark Index (AI) is a novel ablation algorithm that combines contact force, radiofrequency current, and application to provide real‐time lesion formation. AI‐guided CTI ablation protocol is efficient in shortening RF duration for acute bidirectional CTI block and CTI procedure time compared to the conventional 40 W ablation protocol.
