The Emergence of Integrated Information, Complexity, and ‘Consciousness’ at Criticality
Integrated Information Theory (IIT) posits that integrated information ( Φ ) represents the quantity of a conscious experience. Here, the generalized Ising model was used to calculate Φ as a function of temperature in toy models of ...

The heterogeneous nature of the coupled electrochemical‐mechanical interactions at the sodium (Na) electrode interface is revealed to result in nonuniform mechanical stresses and reaction fronts, leading to the formation of Na filaments or pits. This work highlights the need for synergistic tailoring of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) heterogeneity ...

Exact solutions to plaquette Ising models with free and periodic boundaries
An anisotropic limit of the 3d plaquette Ising model, in which the plaquette couplings in one direction were set to zero, was solved for free boundary conditions by Suzuki (1972) [1], who later dubbed it the fuki-nuke, or “no-ceiling”, model.

Exact solution of the spin-1/2 Ising model on the Shastry-Sutherland (orthogonal-dimer) lattice
A star-triangle mapping transformation is used to establish an exact correspondence between the spin-1/2 Ising model on the Shastry-Sutherland (orthogonal-dimer) lattice and respectively, the spin-1/2 Ising model on a bathroom tile (4-8) lattice.

Universal Superconductivity in FeTe and All‐Iron‐Based Ferromagnetic Superconductor Heterostructures
The first all‐iron‐based ferromagnetic superconductor heterostructures with high‐temperature superconductivity and strong ferromagnetism aredemonstrated. From this, it is discovered that FeTe becomes universallysuperconducting with a minute level of cationic impurities through doping ordiffusion from neighboring layers, suggesting its ground state can ...

In-depth investigation of phase transition phenomena in network models derived from lattice models
Lattice models exhibit significant potential in investigating phase transitions, yet they encounter numerous computational challenges. To address these issues, this study introduces a Monte Carlo-based approach that transforms lattice models into a ...

Coupled Critical Models: Applications to Ising-Potts Models [PDF]
We discuss the critical behaviour of 2D Ising and q-states Potts models coupled by their energy density. We found new tricritical points. The procedure employed is the renormalisation approach of the perturbations series around conformal field theories representing pure models as already used for disordered spins models.

Completeness of the classical 2D Ising model and universal quantum computation
We prove that the 2D Ising model is complete in the sense that the partition function of any classical q-state spin model (on an arbitrary graph) can be expressed as a special instance of the partition function of a 2D Ising model with complex ...

Medium‐Entropy Engineering of Magnetism in Layered Antiferromagnet CuxNi2(1‐x)CrxP2S6
This study explores the aliovalent substitution strategy with Cu and Cr replacing Ni in Ni₂P₂S₆ compounds to engineer magnetism. By creating CuxNi2(1‐x)CrxP2S6 medium‐entropy alloys, the research reveals the evolution of distinct magnetic phases, including the creation of weak ferromagnetism in intermediate compositions.
