Shoshonites in southern Tibet record Late Jurassic rifting of a Tethyan intraoceanic island arc [PDF]
Detailed field mapping combined with a petrologic and geochemical investigation of the Zedong terrane within the Yarlung Tsangpo suture zone provides insights to the evolution of now mostly subducted portions of Tethys during the Late Jurassic.

The subduction zones in the SW Pacific Ocean are some of the most dynamic plate boundaries on Earth with changes in subduction polarity and subduction initiation processes. The New Hebrides island arc formed some 10 million years ago after the Melanesian

Expeditionary research on the Kronotsky Peninsula
The sublatitudinal active fault on the Kronotsky Peninsula (Kamchatka) has been studied. The deformations of the Holocene soil-pyroclastic cover opened by the trench indicate reverse vertical movements along the fault plane.

Accreted oceanic terranes in Ecuador: Southern edge of the Caribbean plate ? [PDF]
in pressThe western part of Ecuador is made of several oceanic terranes, which comprise two oceanic plateaus, of Early (≈ 120 Ma), and Late Cretaceous age (≈ 90 Ma), respectively.

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

The arc arises: The links between volcanic output, arc evolution and melt composition [PDF]
Subduction initiation is a key process for global plate tectonics. Individual lithologies developed during subduction initiation and arc inception have been identified in the trench wall of the Izu–Bonin–Mariana (IBM) island arc but a continuous record ...

NEW DATA ON THE AGE AND COMPOSITION OF OPHIOLITES FROM THE KABAK-TAIGA MASSIF (GORNY ALTAI)
The combination of newly obtained geological, petrological and geochronological data on the rocks from the Kabak-Taiga ophiolite massif of the Gorny Altai and already published materials on similar characteristics of the ophiolites from Tuva allows us to
