Power scheduling in islanded-mode microgrids using fuel cell vehicles
We consider power scheduling in a microgrid operated in the islanded mode. It is assumed that at any time all the renewable energy sources are generating the maximum achievable electrical power based on the weather conditions and the power balance of the

Transition from Islanded to grid-connected mode of microgrids with voltage-based droop control [PDF]
Microgrids are able to provide a coordinated integration of the increasing share of distributed generation (DG) units in the network. The primary control of the DG units is generally performed by droop-based control algorithms that avoid communication ...

Inter-Island Commuter Travel Mode Chain Model in the Islands Region
Abstract Village growth and coastal development on islands are challenging phenomena in urban development that put pressure on transportation planning and provision. For waterfront cities the impacts are often amplified by exponential growth and limited availability of public transportation infrastructure.

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

In order to ensure the uninterrupted power supply, it is necessary for the microgrid to operate in both grid-connected mode and islanded mode. To address this concern, this study proposes a unified decentralised control strategy for both grid-connected ...

A Seamless Switching Strategy for Hybrid AC/DC Microgrids Under Varied Control Complexities
In peer-to-peer controlled hybrid AC/DC microgrids, the grid-connected inverters switch between different control modes with the change of the operating conditions.

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

A Novel Power Scheduling Mechanism for Islanded DC Microgrid Cluster
Extension of the main grid to remote areas is economically not feasible. To electrify remote areas, one of the best choices is to install Renewable Energy Sources (RES) as a distributed generation (DG) and thus form a microgrid (MG) in islanded (Stand ...

Coordinated control for harmonic mitigation of parallel voltage-source inverters
The increasing use of power electronic devices can deteriorate the power quality by introducing voltage and current harmonics. In islanded microgrids, the presence of nonlinear loads can distort the point of common coupling (PCC) voltage, while the dead ...
