Loess Studies in Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 2, June 2026.
Loess in Aotearoa New Zealand (ANZ) has been studied since its first documented recognition (on Banks Peninsula) in 1878 by Julius von Haast. A decade later, John Hardcastle revealed that southern ANZ loess was both glacial in origin and contained signals of past climates.

Period function and characterizations of Isochronous potentials

open access: yes, 2011
We are interested at first in the study of the monotonicity for the period function of the conservative equation \ $(1)\quad \ddot x + g(x) = 0.$\quad Some refinements of known criteria are brought.

Limit cycles bifurcating from the period annulus of a uniform isochronous center in a quartic polynomial differential system

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
We study the number of limit cycles that bifurcate from the periodic solutions surrounding a uniform isochronous center located at the origin of the quartic polynomial differential system $$ \dot{x}=-y+xy(x^2+y^2),\quad \dot{y}=x+y^2(x^2+y^2 ...

Isochronous centers of Lienard type equations and applications

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2007
In this work we study the equation $(E) \ddot x + f(x) \dot x^2 + g(x) = 0$ with a center at 0 and investigate conditions of its isochronicity. When $f$ and $g$ are analytic (not necessary odd) a necessary and sufficient condition for the isochronicity of 0 is given. This approach allows us to present an algorithm for obtained conditions for a point of

Efficacy of Fixed Low‐Power Long‐Duration Radiofrequency Ablation of Ventricular Arrhythmias Originating From the Left Ventricular Summit

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Efficacy and safety of a fixed low‐power, long‐duration radiofrequency catheter ablation of ventricular arrhythmias originating from the left ventricular summit. ABSTRACT Background Radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) of ventricular arrhythmias originating from the left ventricular summit (LVS‐VAs) remains challenging.

A Two-Process Model for Control of Legato Articulation Across a Wide Range of Tempos During Piano Performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Prior reports indicated a non-linear increase in key overlap times (KOTs) as tempo slows for scales/arpeggios performed at internote intervals (INIs) of I00-1000 ms. Simulations illustrate that this function can be explained by a two-process model.

On Urabe's criteria of isochronicity

open access: yes, 2000
We give a short proof of Urabe's criteria for the isochronicity of periodical solutions of the equation $\ddot{x}+g(x)=0$. We show that apart from the harmonic oscillator there exists a large family of isochronous potentials which must all be non ...

Origins of the Pangkaimen Au Deposit in the Northern Great Xing'an Range, China: Evidence From Geochronological, Geochemical, Fluid Inclusion, and H–O–S–Pb Isotope Data

open access: yesGeological Journal, Volume 61, Issue 5, Page 1291-1309, May 2026.
The Pangkaimen Au–Ag deposits belong to the epithermal Au deposits, which are of great significance for guiding the research and development of this type of gold deposit. Metallogenic model diagram of Pangkaimen Au–Ag deposit. ABSTRACT The gold (Au) metallogenic belt in the northern Great Xing'an Range is characterised by the wide occurrence of the ...

Directed flow, a signal for the phase transition in Relativistic Nuclear Collisions?

open access: yes, 2014
The sign change of the slope of the directed flow of baryons has been predicted as a signal for a first order phase transition within fluid dynamical calculations.

Determination of Magnet Specification of 13 MeV Proton Cyclotron Based on Opera 3D

open access: yesAtom Indonesia, 2014
The magnet is one of the main components of a cyclotron, used to form a circular particle beam trajectories and to provide focusing of the beam. To support the mastery of 13-MeV proton cyclotron technologies, cyclotron magnet design must be done to ...
