Fractionation of Wood Biomass With Thiolactic Acid and Choline Chloride‐Based Solvent Into White Lignin for Sustainable Cooling Applications

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 1, January 2026.
A novel and highly efficient wood biomass fractionation method was developed to produce white lignin, exhibiting the brightest color reported to date. The process yielded white lignin with high yield, excellent visible light reflectance, and elevated infrared emissivity, highlighting its potential as an active material for passive radiative cooling ...

Recycling of Polyurethane Waste: Facile Hydrothermal Conversion Using Acidic and Basic Additives

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 1, January 2026.
Ethylenediamine efficiently catalyses the hydrothermal recycling of polyurethane (PU) into monomers. The NH functional groups promote carbamic acid decomposition via zwitterion interactions, outperforming inorganic acids and bases, and enabling selective depolymerisation of PU under mild conditions for circular chemical utilisation.

Synthesis and Characterization of Lignin‐Based Polycarbonate Polyols for Flexible Polyurethane Foam Application

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 2, January 2026.
Lignin was converted into polycarbonate polyols through oxyalkylation with propylene carbonate, followed by transesterification with dimethyl carbonate. The resulting biobased polyols were used directly to formulate flexible polyurethane foams for automotive seating applications. The figure (graphical Abstract) is attached.

A Novel NLRP3 Inhibitor AMS‐17 Rescues Deficits in Long‐Term Potentiation Following Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in Adult C57Bl/6 Mice

open access: yesHippocampus, Volume 36, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of long‐term disability, with limited effective treatment options. A key factor of TBI pathophysiology is neuroinflammation, which can involve the activation of the nucleotide‐binding domain leucine‐rich repeat protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome. Aberrant inflammation following injury has the ability
