Benign isolated arteritis of the central nervous system

Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, 1986
We present a case of benign isolated arteritis of the CNS. The clinical and angiographic features of this rare disease are discussed and compared with similar cases published in the recent literature. The importance of the angiographic pattern in the diagnosis of this treatable disease is stressed.

Thrombotic microangiopathy isolated to the central nervous system

Annals of Neurology, 1991
AbstractA man with plasma cell dyscrasia and bone marrow infiltration presented with rapidly progressive encephalopathy. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed multiple small areas of abnormal signal that correlated with the autopsy findings of thrombotic microangiopathy isolated to the central nervous system.

Isolation of Leukocytes from Mouse Central Nervous System

2014
During neuroinflammatory or neurodegenerative diseases, it is often critical to characterize the composition of infiltrating immune cells. This protocol describes a reliable, fast, and simple method for the isolation of leukocytes from murine central nervous system (CNS) during steady state or inflammation for analysis by flow cytometry or other ...

Isolated central nervous system Whipple's disease: Two cases

Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2015
Although it is an orphan disease, isolated central nervous system Whipple's disease is one of the "must be known" conditions in neurology because it belongs to the list of "treatable disorders". Here, we present two cases which highlight the importance of early diagnosis.

Isolated central nervous system relapse of testicular cancer

Medical and Pediatric Oncology, 1992
AbstractCentral nervous system involvement with testicular cancer usually occurs with advanced systemic disease. Isolated CNS disease at relapse is rare. We report a patient who developed a solitary brain metastasis with no other systemic disease after having achieved a complete response to frontline therapy. After combined modality therapy for the CNS

Isolation of Central Nervous System (CNS) Infiltrating Cells

2014
Leukocyte infiltration of the central nervous system (CNS) occurs under certain pathogenic conditions and most often results in severe disorders. Therefore, the isolation and analysis of such infiltrating cell populations is necessary for elucidating the underlying pathogenic mechanisms.

Isolation ofAgrobacterium radiobacter from a central venous catheter

European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, 1991
A case of septicemia caused by Agrobacterium radiobacter is reported in a patient undergoing chemotherapy treatment who had recently been neutropenic. Agrobacterium radiobacter was isolated from the Hickman line blood culture. The patient responded favorably to removal of the Hickman catheter and treatment with amikacin and piperacillin.

[Endothelialization of central isolated leukomata adhaerentes].

Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 1988
Among 820 eyes enucleated between 1980 and 1984 and examined histologically there were 132 globes with central corneal-perforations. In ten of these there was a leukoma adherens not in contact with the anterior chamber angle. In all cases it was endothelialized with formation of a new basal lamina.

The development of isolated central nervous system preparations

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part C: Comparative Pharmacology, 1982
1. Use of invertebrate isolated CNS preparations showed that identified neurons have distinct specific repeatable pharmacological properties. 2. Isolated CNS preparations have been developed from invertebrates to include fish, amphibian, reptile and mammal CNS preparations. 3. The isolated mammalian (mouse, hamster, rat, guinea pig) CNS preparation can
