不飽和カルボン酸に対するグリニヤール試薬の1, 4付加反応をイソロイシンの合成に応用し,新合成法を確立した.すなわち,クロトン酸およびそのsec-ブチルエステルにエチルマグネシウムブロミドを作用せしめた後,その反応コンプレックスにハロゲンを付加し,得られたα-ハロゲンカルボン酸をアミノ化してイソロイシンを合成した.なお,この際グリニヤールコンプレックスへのヨウ素付加においてスレオ型が優先して生ずることより,その付加が隣接基の立体効果をうける現象を認めた.

ARTP mutagenesis yielded Saccharopolyspora spinosa mutant D184 with improved extracellular nitrogen utilization. An integrated workflow of protease genetic manipulation, multi‐omics, and rational synergy design pinpointed a pepP‐clpP‐htpX synergistic triangular combination.

Prognostic Value of Psoas Major Muscle Volume in Assessing Sarcopenia in Elderly Patients With Rectal Cancer

This study investigates the prognostic utility of a novel volumetric indicator—psoas volume index (PVI)—for assessing sarcopenia in elderly rectal cancer patients. Sarcopenia classified by our proposed PVI cut‐off values was associated with poor nutritional and inflammatory status, and patients with low PVI showed significantly worse long‐term outcomes.

In this work, we report the heat rectifying capability of a-helices. Using molecular dynamics simulations we show an increased thermal diffusivity in the C-Terminal to N-Terminal direction of propagation.

ABSTRACT Isobutanol is a fusel alcohol that can be produced microbially for use as a biofuel or upgraded into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). A key enzyme in the isobutanol biosynthetic pathway is 2‐ketoacid decarboxylase (KDC), which irreversibly decarboxylates 2‐ketoisovalerate (KIV) to yield isobutyraldehyde.
