Interweaving isomerism and isomerization of molecular chains
Chemical Communications, 2011The silver(I) isopropylimidazolate crystallizes as three genuine interweaving supramolecular isomers, including a sinusoidal chain, a rare quintuple helix, and an unprecedented chicken-wire pattern. Heating transforms the chicken-wire into the quintuple helix through an interesting mechanism.

DURING experiments on the metabolism of dienœstrol in man and in animals it was noticed that hydrolysis of dienœstrol-containing urines, 1 N with respect to hydrochloric acid, always entailed a loss of about 90 per cent of the original œstrogenic activity.

(Invited) Isomerism in Endohedral Fullerenes: Isomeric Cages, Isomeric Encapsulates
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2020Computations can help understanding of various forms of isomerism in endohedral fullerenes. They can confirm the observed isomers, predict their abundancies and properties, deduce approximate temperature during synthesis (or other parameters difficult to measure) from observed isomeric ratios.

An Isomeric Benzylideneguanosine
Nature, 1951ALTHOUGH various investigators1 have prepared benzylideneguanosine, Michelson and Todd are the only ones who report a specific rotation as well as a melting point for this compound. Recently it became desirable to prepare benzylideneguanosine in this laboratory.

Surface tensions for isomeric chlorobutanes with isomeric butanols
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2004A drop volume tensiometer was employed to measure the surface tensions for the binary mixtures of each of the isomers of chlorobutane with each of the isomers of butanol at a temperature of 298.15 K. From these data the surface tension deviations were calculated.

In persons afflicted with left or right atrial isomerism the intrathoracic and intra-abdominal organs are symmetrical. In left atrial isomerism the intrathoracic organs located on the right are similar to those on the left: lungs, for example, have two lobes and long bronchi. In right atrial isomerism there are three lobes of the lung and short bronchi

This chapter discusses isomerism, which describes the different ways in which we can arrange the atoms in a molecule with a fixed formula. This arrangement of atoms can take the form of constitutional (structural) isomerism, where the atoms are joined in a different order, or stereoisomerism, where the atoms are arranged differently in space ...
