Normal pulmonary venous drainage in the setting of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection
Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) and anomalous pulmonary venous drainage are not synonymous. This has been described in the setting of right isomerism (bilateral right sidedness) where the pulmonary veins are connected anomalously but ...

Imaging the Predicted Isomerism of Oligo(aniline)s:A Scanning Tunneling Microscopy Study [PDF]
As model systems of poly(aniline), oligo(aniline)s have been previously predicted to exist in a number of isomeric forms, with positional, geometric and conformational isomerism possible.

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Step-Wise Computational Synthesis of Fullerene C60 derivatives. 1.Fluorinated Fullerenes C60F2k
The reactions of fullerene C60 with atomic fluorine have been studied by unrestricted broken spin-symmetry Hartree-Fock (UBS HF) approach implemented in semiempirical codes based on AM1 technique. The calculations were focused on a sequential addition of

Characteristic structural features of indolicidin: effects of the cis-trans isomerism on its conformation [PDF]
Indolicidin is an antimicrobial peptide showing a broad spectrum of antibacterial and antifungal activities, and according to the cis-trans isomerism of three Xaa-Pro peptide bonds, eight different stereoisomers could be distinguished for this peptide ...

Unusual Swelling Behavior of Hydrogels Modified with Spiropyran as Appendage or Crosslinker
Not so innocent after all—spiropyran crosslinkers in methylenebisacrylamide‐crosslinked poly(acrylamide‐co‐acrylic acid) hydrogels increase crosslinking density, but also, counterintuitively, increase swelling. Charge complexation, cooperative chemo‐mechanical effects, and aggregation may explain these observations.

Using the Photostationary State of Arylazopyrazoles to Control Phase Transitions of Liquid Crystals
A series of new arylazopyrazole photoswitches is designed as dopants for liquid crystalline materials. Unprecedented, the distribution of photoisomers at the photostationary state upon irradiation with light of specific wavelengths (365, 460, 520 nm) is used to control the liquid crystalline phase transitions under isothermal conditions, including ...

A strategic spin‐polarization suppression in Fe single‐atom catalysts is proposed to enhance electrocatalytic reduction of NO to NH3. Employing a top‐down electrospinning strategy, self‐supported FeSAC with Fe‐N3S1 coordination structure and spin‐state transition is engineered from high‐spin to low‐spin.
