Applying muscle synergy analysis to forearm high-density electromyography of healthy people

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2022
IntroductionMuscle synergy is regarded as a motor control strategy deployed by the central nervous system (CNS). Clarifying the modulation of muscle synergies under different strength training modes is important for the rehabilitation of motor-impaired ...

Cyclic Stretch Alters Vascular Reactivity of Mouse Aortic Segments

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2017
Large, elastic arteries buffer the pressure wave originating in the left ventricle and are constantly exposed to higher amplitudes of cyclic stretch (10%) than muscular arteries (2%).

Isometric Uncertainty Relations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2020
We generalize the link between fluctuation theorems and thermodynamic uncertainty relations by deriving a bound on the variance of fluxes that satisfy an isometric fluctuation theorem. The resulting bound, which depends on the system's dimension $d$, naturally interpolates between two known bounds.

Maximal strength measurement: A critical evaluation of common methods—a narrative review

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living, 2023
Measuring maximal strength (MSt) is a very common performance diagnoses, especially in elite and competitive sports. The most popular procedure in test batteries is to test the one repetition maximum (1RM).

Mechanomyographic Parameter Extraction Methods: An Appraisal for Clinical Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2014
The research conducted in the last three decades has collectively demonstrated that the skeletal muscle performance can be alternatively assessed by mechanomyographic signal (MMG) parameters.

Assessing the Validity and Reliability of A Low-Cost Microcontroller-Based Load Cell Amplifier for Measuring Lower Limb and Upper Limb Muscular Force

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Lower and upper limb maximum muscular force development is an important indicator of physical capacity. Manual muscle testing, load cell coupled with a signal conditioner, and handheld dynamometry are three widely used techniques for measuring isometric ...

On isometric and minimal isometric embeddings [PDF]

open access: yesDuke Mathematical Journal, 1997
In this paper we study critial isometric and minimal isometric embeddings of classes of Riemannian metrics which we call {\it quasi-$k$-curved metrics}. Quasi-$k$-curved metrics generalize the metrics of space forms. We construct explicit examples and prove results about existence and rigidity.

Excursion of bone-patella tendon-bone grafts during the flexion–extension movement in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: Comparison between isometric and anatomic reconstruction techniques

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Rehabilitation and Technology, 2015
Background/objective: The purpose of this study was to elucidate the biomechanical differences between anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) grafts reconstructed by isometric and anatomic reconstruction techniques, based on their length changes.

ISOMETRIC AND ISOMETRIC- m OPERATORS [PDF]

open access: yesAKSIOMA: Jurnal Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, 2017
This paper presents the definition, samples, and natures of isometric and isometric- m algebra operator for some  in  Hilbert space. In additions, the relationship of both operators will also be examined. To investigate natures of isometric and isometric- m operators, adjoint operators concepts and natures are required.
