Effect of chemical degradation on fluxes of reactive compounds – a study with a stochastic Lagrangian transport model [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2012
In the analyses of VOC fluxes measured above plant canopies, one usually assumes the flux above canopy to equal the exchange at the surface. Thus one assumes the chemical degradation to be much slower than the turbulent transport.

Glyphosate residues in soil alter herbivore‐induced plant volatiles and affect predatory insect behaviour

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Herbicide residues in soil disrupt plant–insect signalling, reducing the effectiveness of biological pest control. Abstract Plants under herbivore attack emit distinct blends of herbivore‐induced plant volatiles (HIPVs) which serve as signalling cues for predatory insects.

What Is a Polyolefin? A Critical Overview of Ethylene Copolymers Used as Solar Photovoltaic Module Encapsulants

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 367-395, April 2026.
Polyolefin encapsulants are gaining dominance in PV modules, yet confusion persists around PO, POE, and TPO definitions. This study clarifies terminology, reviews materials, and properties and proposes a taxonomy to improve understanding, communication, and reliability in solar module manufacturing.

Identification of isoprene-degrading bacteria in phyllosphere and soil communities from high isoprene-emitting oil palm trees by DNA-stable isotope probing

open access: yesAccess Microbiology, 2020
Isoprene is the most abundant biogenic volatile organic compound (BVOC) on Earth, with annual global emissions almost equal to those from methane. Due to its volatile nature and high reactivity, isoprene plays a complex role in atmospheric chemistry and hence, climate.

Over‐Expression of a Phycocyanin‐Interferon Fusion and Differential Cleaving Efficiency in Cyanobacteria (Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803)

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 3, Page 752-762, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Recombinant protein expression in heterologous biological systems is an expanding field in synthetic biology. Photosynthetic organisms have the potential to provide an efficient low‐cost platform for recombinant protein production because they require minimal growth nutrients and are less susceptible to zoonotic and other contaminants ...
