An <i>Isospora</i> Species (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) Identified From a Black-Faced Cuckoo-Shrike (<i>Coracina novaehollandiae</i>) (Gmelin, 1789) (Passeriformes: Campephagidae) in Western Australia. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Description of Isospora coracinae n. sp. from a Black‐faced cuckoo‐shrike Coracina novaehollandiae. Morphology study: Unique. Genetic similarities: 98.8%, 93.7%, and 98.9% match to I. neochmiae for the 18S rRNA, 28S rRNA, and COI loci, respectively.

Sensitive detection systems for infectious agents in xenotransplantation*

open access: yesXenotransplantation, EarlyView., 2020
Abstract Xenotransplantation of pig cells, tissues, or organs may be associated with transmission of porcine microorganisms, first of all of viruses, to the transplant recipient, potentially inducing a disease (zoonosis). I would like to define detection systems as the complex of sample generation, sample preparation, sample origin, time of sampling ...

The complete mitochondrial genome sequences of two Isospora species (Eimeriidae, Eucoccidiorida, Coccidiasina, Apicomplexa) causing coccidiosis in superb glossy starlings, Lamprotornis superbus (Aves: Sturnidae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2017
Complete mitochondrial genomes are reported for two Isospora species causing systemic coccidiosis in Superb Glossy Starlings (Aves: Sturnidae). The A/T rich (34.7% G/C) genomes were 6223 bp in length for Isospora greineri and 6217 bp for Isospora ...

Cross-infection experiments with "isospora" of cats and dogs

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1974
Feces of 34 dogs out of 251 (13.5%) from guanabara were positive for Isospora. From these 19 (7.5%) were i. rivolta, 13 (5.2%) were I. canis and 2 (0,7) were i. bigemina. "Free-sporocysts" of I. rivolta were eliminated by 9 dogs (3.5%).
