Relaxation and derelaxation of pure and hydrogenated amorphous silicon during thermal annealing experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The structural relaxation of pure amorphous silicon (a-Si) and hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) materials, that occurs during thermal annealing experiments, has been analysed by Raman spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Unlike a-Si,

Wedelolactone, a Novel TLR2 Agonist, Promotes Neutrophil Differentiation and Ameliorates Neutropenia: A Multi‐Omics Approach to Unravel the Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wedelolactone (WED), a natural TLR2 agonist, promotes neutrophil differentiation and enhances bactericidal function, offering a potential therapeutic strategy for neutropenia. Using a multi‐omics approach, this study reveals that WED activates the TLR2/MEK/ERK pathway, upregulating key transcription factors (PU.1, CEBPβ) to drive neutrophil development.

Thermal annealing of GaAs concentrator solar cells [PDF]

open access: yes
Isochronal and isothermal annealing tests were performed on GaAs concentrator cells which were irradiated with electrons of various energies to fluences up to 1 x 10(exp 16) e/sq cm.

Growth and thermal stability of TiN/ZrAlN: Effect of internal interfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Wear resistant hard films comprised of cubic transition metal nitride (c-TMN) and metastable c-AlN with coherent interfaces have a confined operating envelope governed by the limited thermal stability of metastable phases.

Cinnamic‐Hydroxamic‐Acid Derivatives Exhibit Antibiotic, Anti‐Biofilm, and Supercoiling Relaxation Properties by Targeting Bacterial Nucleoid‐Associated Protein HU

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cinnamic‐hydroxamic‐acid derivatives (CHADs) are identified as novel inhibitors of the bacterial nucleoid‐associated protein HU, exhibiting potent antibacterial, anti‐biofilm (both inhibition and eradication), and DNA relaxation (anti‐supercoiling) activities. Moreover, CHADs demonstrate strong synergistic effects with multiple antibiotics.

Microstructure Evolution of Cold-Rolled Carbide-Free Bainite Steel Sheets During Continuous Annealing Process

open access: yesMetals
A modified carbide-free bainite (CFB) steel has been developed, building on existing alloys for compatibility with commercial continuous annealing lines (CALs), featuring a low austenitization temperature and short overaging time.

Crystallization of Fe82Si2B16 and Fe82Si4B14 metallic glasses upon isothermal and non-isothermal annealing

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2011
Crystallization of Fe82Si2B16 and Fe82Si4B14 metallic glasses upon heat treatment has been studied. The amorphous ribbons have been isothermally annealed at different temperatures (673, 693, 733 and 743 K) and for various times (from 15 min to 78 hours).

Experimental investigation of phase equilibria in the ZrCu-Al system at 500º C [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Weight is of a fundamental importance in the performance of aircraft. Finding new materials for the structural elements of an aircraft that are lighter while giving the performance needed is crucial.

Avrami exponent under transient and heterogeneous nucleation transformation conditions

open access: yes, 2010
The Kolmogorov-Johnson-Mehl-Avrami model for isothermal transformation kinetics is universal under specific assumptions. However, the experimental Avrami exponent deviates from the universal value.

Burn‐Safe Biodegradable Magnetocaloric Composites for Temperature‐Controlled Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work investigates a magnetocaloric (Mn,Fe)2(P,Si) compound tailored for precise, self‐regulating heating in biomedical use. With a Curie temperature tuned at 43 °C, it enables therapeutic activation without overheating. Encapsulation in a composite ensures controlled temperature rise under an alternating magnetic field (AMF), with high ...
