ISOTHERMAL AND NON-ISOTHERMAL MULTICOMPONENT ADSORPTION KINETICS
Chemical Engineering Communications, 1990The model equations in the relaxation form for the multicomponent kinetics of isothermal and non-isothermal adsorption, taking into account all major distinctive features of the interphase heat and mass exchange inside porous grains and at their surface (see points 1 to 4 below) for P (“pore”) and S (“solid”) models of mass transfer within porous ...

Isothermal and non-isothermal crystallization of a fresnoite glass
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2013Abstract Several analytical models have been widely applied to determine the activation energy of crystallization, E , and the Avrami index, n . In this work, the parameters E and n for the crystallization of fresnoite (2BaO·TiO 2 ·2SiO 2 ) glass were calculated using different approaches (Ozawa, Kissinger, and Matusita & Sakka).

The existence of steady, spherically symmetric wave fronts ("isothermal flame balls") in chemical reaction systems exhibiting autocatalysis is demonstrated. Such solutions require relatively high kinetic orders p with respect to the autocatalytic species, with p>5, but occur even with equal diffusion coefficients. The flame balls are unstable, but have

“Quasi-isothermal” thermogravimetry
Analytica Chimica Acta, 1971A new method has been worked out which allows the implementation of a special heating program according to which the temperature of the sample is rapidly increased so long as no changes occur in it, while it ensures nearly isothermal conditions when reactions connected with weight change are taking place.

Relationship between non-isothermal transformation curves and isothermal and non-isothermal kinetics
Acta Materialia, 2005A mathematical method is presented to obtain an isothermal transformation curve from a continuous cooling transformation (CCT) curve. It can also be used for transformations that occur during continuous heating rather than continuous cooling. The method is applied to nucleation and growth transformations and to grain growth.

Isothermal Titration Calorimetry
Current Protocols in Cell Biology, 2004AbstractIn the last two decades, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) has become the preferred technique to determine the binding energetics of biological processes, including protein‐ligand binding, protein‐protein binding, DNA‐protein binding, protein‐carbohydrate binding, protein‐lipid binding, and antigen‐antibody binding.

Isothermic hemodialysis and ultrafiltration
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 2000The increase in patient temperature during hemodialysis is explained by hemodynamic compensation during ultrafiltration and hypovolemia that leads to peripheral vasoconstriction and reduced heat losses. We analyzed 51 stable high-efficiency hemodialysis treatments in 27 patients during isothermic dialysis in which body temperature was maintained at a ...

Kinetics of Non-Isothermal and Isothermal Decomposition of Limestone
Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society, 2004The kinetics of decomposition of limestone was studied using both non-isothermal and isothermal methods. The mechanism and kinetics of thermal decomposition were studied using Arrhenius equation applied to solid state reactions. It was found that in both non-isothermal and isothermal methods limestone seemed to be decomposed via a zero order reaction ...

Binding isotherm determination by isothermal titration calorimetry
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2004A simple method for determination of binding isotherm in the protein-ligand interaction was introduced using isothermal titration calorimetric data. This general method was applied to the study of the interaction of myelin basic protein (MBP) from bovine central nervous system with divalent copper ion at 27°C in Tris buffer solution at pH=7.2.

Adiabatic and isothermal resistivities
Physical Review B, 1989The force-balance method is used to calculate the isothermal resistivity to first order in the electric field. To lowest order in the impurity potential, the isothermal resistivity disagrees with the adiabatic results of the Kubo formula and the Boltzmann equation.
