Minimizing Intersheet Junction Resistivity via Au4Cu2 Nanocluster‐Based Connectivity in Mo2TiC2 MXene for Symmetric Supercapacitor Device

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
MXenes are promising materials for energy storage but face challenges like layer restacking and poor electrolyte access. To overcome this, researchers embeded ultrasmall Au4Cu2 nanoclusters within MXene layers. These nanoclusters improve electron flow and prevent restacking, boosting charge transfer and storage.

Species turnover and climates co‐dominate the carbon–water relationship in grasslands along an elevational gradient

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Water use efficiency (WUE) serves as a core function reflecting vegetation–climate interactions and terrestrial carbon–water cycle. However, direct measurements of WUE are largely constrained to indoor experiments, individual plant and instantaneous physiological ...

Plant–soil microbe adaptive strategies reshape soil respiration components under multi‐year precipitation frequency reduction and nitrogen addition in a semi‐arid grassland

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Plant–microbe interactions involve complex resource‐use trade‐offs, yet their responses to combined changes in precipitation frequency and nitrogen (N) deposition remain poorly understood.

Integrating Sr isotopes, microchemistry, and genetics to reconstruct Salmonidae species and life history

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent approaches to fisheries research emphasize the importance of the coproduction of knowledge in building resilient and culturally mindful fisheries management frameworks. Despite widespread recognition of the need for Indigenous knowledge and historical reference points as baseline data, archaeological data are rarely included in ...
