Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.

Thin circular plate uniformaly loaded over a concentric elliptic path and supported on columns

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1986
Within the limitations of the classical thin plate theory expressions are obtained for the small deflections of a thin isotropic circular plate uniformly loaded over a concentric ellipse and supported by four columns at the vertices of a rectangle whose ...

An Experimental High‐Throughput Approach for the Screening of Hard Magnet Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An entire workflow for the high‐throughput characterization and analysis of compositionally graded magnetic films is presented. Characterization protocols, data management tools and data analysis approaches are illustrated with test case Sm(Fe, V)12 based films.

Low Cycle Repetitive Loading of Ti‐6Al‐4V‐Epoxy Composite Lattice Structures for Enhanced Energy Dissipation and Damage Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Bounds on the effective isotropic moduli of thin elastic composite plates

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2010
The main aim of this paper is to estimate the effective moduli of an isotropic elastic composite, analyzed within the framework of the Kirchhoff-Love theory of thin plates in bending.

Measured Lamb wave radiation patterns from 011 Mn-PMN-PZT relaxor ferroelectric disks on an isotropic plate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Three-dimensional laser Doppler vibrometry is used to quantify the modal composition of the guided plate waves generated by relaxor ferroelectric disk actuators of a 011 poled Mn-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O-lead zirconate titanate (PZT) single crystal and ?100 ...

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

Buckling analysis of thick plates using refined trigonometric shear deformation theory

open access: yesJournal of Materials and Engineering Structures, 2015
In this paper, a refined trigonometric shear deformation plate theory is applied for the buckling analysis of thick isotropic square and rectangular plates.
