Thermoplastic‐Resin Transfer Molding Technology: Development and Challenges Toward Industrialization
Illustration of the key aspects involved in the manufacture of thermoplastic composites by T‐RTM highlighting the relationships between raw materials, resin mixing strategies, polymerization parameters, and processing equipment ranging from laboratory to industrial scale. ABSTRACT Driven by increasingly stringent international environmental regulations,

The Polymer Effect on Nonlinear Processes in Decaying Homogeneous Isotropic Turbulence
In order to study the polymer effect on the behavior of nonlinearities in decaying homogeneous isotropic turbulence (DHIT), direct numerical simulations were carried out for DHIT with and without polymers.

In the context of tackling the ill-posed inverse problem of motion estimation from image sequences, we propose to introduce prior knowledge on flow regularity given by turbulence statistical models.

Effect of thermal fluctuations on homogeneous compressible turbulence
For more than a century, it has been widely believed that there is a clear gap between molecular motions at the microscopic level and turbulent fluctuations at the macroscopic level. However, recent studies have demonstrated that the thermal fluctuations

Evaluating anisotropy‐based Monin–Obukhov similarity theory over canopies and complex terrain
This study shows that an anisotropy‐based generalization of Monin–Obukhov surface‐layer scaling (SC23) applies readily across a wide range of atmospheric conditions with variable terrain, canopies, and land‐cover complexity. This work focuses on the scaling of velocity variances for 7 years at the 47 sites in the National Ecological Observation Network

The climatological‐error covariance matrix used in three‐dimensional variational data assimilation (3DVar) provides smooth and isotropic increments spread to long distances. In contrast, three‐dimensional ensemble variational data assimilation (3DEnVar) with a purely ensemble‐error covariance matrix provides inhomogeneous increments and contains the ...

ABSTRACT We present experimental results on the relationship between rain attenuation and simultaneous scintillation during rain events, based on beacon signal measurements at 19.7 (Ka‐band) and 39.4 GHz (Q‐band) from the geosynchronous Alphasat satellite (25° E), received at two Italian ground stations, Spino d'Adda (42.1° slant path) and Tito Scalo ...

Herein, AlCoCrFeNi2.1 is selected to produce lattice structures by selective laser melting. The as‐printed lattice structures consist of numerous colonies of nanosized eutectic lamellar structures which are bent and interwind with each other to form a woven microstructure. The unique microstructure leads to unprecedented effective metal strength, yield

Correlation between large- and small-scale velocity components under Fourier filters
By introducing the Fourier filters, we analyse the correlation between large- and small-scale velocity components in homogeneous isotropic turbulence theoretically. We show that different Fourier filters act similarly on this multi-scale correlation with

Anomalous scaling in homogeneous isotropic turbulence [PDF]
The anomalous scaling exponents $ζ_{n}$ of the longitudinal structure functions $S_{n}$ for homogeneous isotropic turbulence are derived from the Navier-Stokes equations by using field theoretic methods to develop a low energy approximation in which the Kolmogorov theory is shown to act effectively as a mean field theory.
