The symmetries of the Dirac--Pauli equation in two and three dimensions

open access: yes, 2004
We calculate all symmetries of the Dirac-Pauli equation in two-dimensional and three-dimensional Euclidean space. Further, we use our results for an investigation of the issue of zero mode degeneracy.

A Black Hole in the X-Ray Nova Velorum 1993 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We have obtained 17 moderate-resolution (~2.5 A) optical spectra of the Galactic X-ray Nova Velorum 1993 in quiescence with the Keck-II telescope. The orbital period (P) is 0.285206 +/- 0.0000014 d, and the semiamplitude (K_2) is 475.4 +/- 5.9 km/s.

Karen Kramer, Curator of Native American and Oceanic Art and Culture and Director of the Native American Fellowship Program, Peabody Essex Museum

open access: yesPanorama, 2018
Centering on T.C. Cannon as narrator of the exhibition, and decentralizing my curatorial voice as the authority, was an intentional strategy I employed to activate Cannon’s Native perspective and to build empathy with the audience.

What is the best risk measure in practice? A comparison of standard measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Expected Shortfall (ES) has been widely accepted as a risk measure that is conceptually superior to Value-at-Risk (VaR). At the same time, however, it has been criticised for issues relating to backtesting.

Clinical Course and Impact of Breaks in Therapy for Children With Relapsed/Refractory Solid Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pediatric relapsed or refractory (R/R) solid tumors carry a dismal prognosis, and postrelapse patient experiences are not well described. We present postrelapse outcomes, including number of R/R events and subsequent therapy regimens.

Molecular Methods for Rare Hemoglobinopathy Cases: First Brazilian Report of Pediatric Siblings with Hb O‐Arab and Alpha‐Thalassemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hemoglobinopathies are prevalent globally; diagnosis is complex in high genetic admixture populations like Brazil. We report, in two pediatric siblings, the first documented cases in Brazil of heterozygosity for hemoglobin (Hb) O‐Arab with coinheritance of α‐thalassemia (αα/−α4.2; −α3.7/−α4.2), resulting in microcytic and hypochromic anemia ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
