Objective Somatic items used in depression assessments can potentially overlap with symptoms related to physical illness, including systemic sclerosis (SSc). No studies have looked at whether somatic depression items may be influenced by diffuse versus limited SSc disease subtypes, which are associated with varying degrees of symptom presentation.

Certain Issues in Variable Amplitude Fatigue

AbstractFatigue crack growth behavior of a series of aluminum alloy under single overload tests, repeated overload tests and a variable amplitude loading spectrum are analyzed. It is shown that the material behavior is governed by micro-mechanisms. For crack initiation at a notch, a short crack model presented here gives acceptable results.
