High statistic measurement of the K- -> pi0 e- nu decay form-factors

open access: yes, 2004
The decay K- -> pi0 e- nu is studied using in-flight decays detected with the ISTRA+ spectrometer. About 920K events are collected for the analysis. The lambda+ slope parameter of the decay form-factor f+(t) in the linear approximation (average slope) is

Progressive development of cracks in biochar–cement composites through multiscale analysis

open access: yesComputer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Volume 40, Issue 30, Page 5952-5971, 19 December 2025.
Abstract The intrinsic brittleness of the cement matrix limits its synergy with steel reinforcement bars, constraining energy dissipation and crack control capacity of concrete. Enhancing the ductility of cementitious materials is, therefore, essential for improving structural resilience.

On the natural border: A bio‐geo‐political reading

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Volume 50, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract This article engages in a critical analysis of the concept of the natural border. It highlights its inherently biopolitical nature by exploring how it intersects with biology, history and geography. In the last decades, critical border studies have deeply questioned the naturality of borders.

Experimental investigations of N‐joints made of high‐strength hollow sections

open access: yesSteel Construction, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 139-149, September 2025.
Abstract This article presents experimental investigations of the structural behaviour of welded N‐joints made of high‐strength hollow sections. A total of 13 large‐scale tests were carried out on joints made from five different steel grades (S500MH, S620QH, S700MH, S770QH and S890QH) using both circular (CHS) and square (SHS) hollow sections.
