A Crystalline and Thermally Stable Selenocysteine Selenenic Acid

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The long‐sought catalytic intermediate of selenoproteins, selenocysteine selenenic acid (Sec–SeOH), is isolated for the first time at ambient temperature. A bioinspired selenopeptide sequence encapsulated within a protective molecular cradle and an oxidant‐free route from selenenyl iodide (Sec–SeI) enable the isolation of Sec–SeOH. Contrary to the long‐

Strain Engineering via W–O–Ru Interfacial Coupling to Suppress Lattice Oxygen Activation for Stable Acidic Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Constructing atomically coupled W–O–Ru interfacial units on RuO2 triggers a dynamic strain evolution during the oxygen evolution reaction. An initial tensile strain secures structural stability, while a self‐adjusting transition to interfacial compression optimizes catalytic activity.

T‐Shaped Stibenium(III) Cation: Hydrostibination Without Sb─H Bond

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A cationic, structurally constrained stibenium platform mediates anti‐Markovnikov hydrostibination of alkenes via element–ligand cooperativity (ELC), thereby bypassing the need for weak Sb─H bonds. ABSTRACT The hydrostibination of alkenes represents a largely underdeveloped transformation, owing to the intrinsic lability of the required Sb─H reagents ...

Proteome‐Wide Target Identification Using Reactive Metallo‐Scaffolds (r‐mS): A Platform for Metallodrug Discovery

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Re‐envisioning the Ligandable Proteome: Reactive Metallo‐Scaffolds (r‐mS) combine non‐covalent protein engagement by a metallo‐scaffold with covalent cysteine capture through a tethered chloroacetamide warhead. Chemoproteomic profiling reveals unique enzyme engagement including ligases, kinases and methyltransferases, highlighting opportunities for ...
