Tool characteristics in imagery of tool actions

Psychological Research, 2013
Are tool characteristics represented in imagined tool actions? In two experiments participants imagined and executed coloring rectangles with a thick and a thin pen. In Experiment 2, an additional execution condition without visual feedback of coloring allowed us to dissociate between the relevance of kinesthetic and visual feedback.

The Exspect tool

1991
With the tool Exspect one can design and simulate formal specifications of distributed systems by means of a formalism based on hierarchical colored Petri nets. A graphical tool set to support the specification process has been implemented. It consists of an editor that allows for hierarchical structuring, a type checker that verifies the rules of the ...

Tool Design, Tool Wear and Tool Life

2009
Metal cutting is a process of removing material from a workpiece in the form of chips using single- or multi-point cutting tools with a clearly defined geometry. To some extent, the performance of a cutting tool determines the cutting behaviour and the process capability.

Local tools

Proceedings of the 9th annual ACM symposium on User interface software and technology - UIST '96, 1996
We describe local tools, a general interaction technique that replaces traditional tool palettes. A collection of tools sit on the worksurface along with the data. Each tool can be picked up (where it replaces the cursor), used, and then put down anywhere on the worksurface. There k a toolbox for organizing the tools. These local tools were implemented

Clay, Tools and Tooling

The Journal of Modern Craft, 2010
AbstractIn this article, artist Cecile Johnson Soliz writes about the complexities of using clay, both in her studio and during her experience of working with clay workers at Red Bank Manufacturing for her project, “Skyline.” Tools for making art are of special interest to Johnson Soliz, especially when the very tools she needs do not exist…or do they?

Tool Integration with the Evidential Tool Bus

2013
Formal and semi-formal tools are now being used in large projects both for development and certification. A typical project integrates many diverse tools such as static analyzers, model checkers, test generators, and constraint solvers. These tools are usually integrated in an ad hoc manner.

Tool-Steel Tools

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1931
Abstract Metal-cutting tools offered the trade today are vastly superior in quality to tools of a decade ago. The factors that govern the life of metal-cutting tools made from carbon, alloy, and high-speed tool steels, namely, design, steel, and treatment, are discussed in this paper, particular stress being laid on the importance of ...

Tool Support

2017
Enterprise architecture, by nature, requires the interconnection and accumulation of large amounts of information from various sources. An enterprise modelling language, such as the one introduced in Chap. 5, can only be successful if supported by adequate tooling. Visualisation and analysis of architectures, as described in Chaps.
