Limnology, 2009
The limnological effects resulting from the metabolism of Egeria najas Planchon (Hydrocharitaceae) were evaluated in the arms of the Itaipu Reservoir (Brazil). Due to local population decline in biomass and coverage, decomposition was the main process that accounted for the observed limnological changes.

Genetica, 2005
In an allozyme electrophoresis survey of 15 hypostomine species from the Itaipu Hydroelectric Reservoir, 25 loci from 14 enzyme systems were scored. Allozyme data allowed recording diagnostic genetic markers for all species analyzed and for some species groups within Hypostomus, a taxon which is taxonomically still unresolved in the Upper Rio Paraná ...

Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, 2018
The golden mussel (Limnoperna fortunei) possesses high fouling potential and has caused damage to various productive sectors. These individuals do not present known natural enemies, but they may be part of the feeding of one or more species of fish, which would help in their control.
