Goode, the Manchester Guardian’s special correspondent in Russia and the Baltic, was arrested in the Estonian capital Tallinn and briefly detained aboard a British warship. Winston Churchill and France: A Certain Ideal

It argues that Churchill was sympathetic to France and, in particular, unusual among Englishmen of his generation in being sympathetic to its political system, but also that this sympathy did not make Churchill consistent in his relations with France.
