The effect of water-soluble carbohydrate concentration and type on in vitro rumen methane output of perennial ryegrass determined using a 24-hour batch-culture gas production technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
peer-reviewedThe objective of this study was to examine the effects of water-soluble carbohydrate (WSC) concentration and type on the in vitro rumen methane (CH4) output of perennial ryegrass (PR) using a 24-hour batch-culture gas production technique.

Italian ryegrass seed quality of different ploidy

open access: yes, 2007
Three cultivars (domestic K-13 diploid and K-29 tetraploid, and introduced Tetraflorum tetraploid) were investigated in two years' trials, with and without spring Pi-fertilizing. The results of this investigation showed that the high quality of Italian ryegrass seed could be achieved with two cuttings in the first production year.

Methods to determine forage intake by lambs on Italian ryegrass

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Animal Sciences, 2015
