Nitrogen and Italian ryegrass.
Grass and Forage Science, 1978AbstractThe regrowth of Italian ryegrass was studied at weekly intervals from 2 to 14 weeks after a cut in late April when 140 kg ha‐1 N was applied. Reduction in digestibility with delay in date of harvest was due to both an increase in the proportion of cell wall and a reduction in the digestibility of the cell wall, particularly the former from week

The role of perennial ryegrass endophyte in Italian ryegrass
NZGA: Research and Practice Series, 2006Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and short-term hybrid ryegrass (L. boucheanum) have reliable establishment and high cool season growth, but varying persistence after the first summer. In Northland, there is increased stress on ryegrass from invertebrate insect attack.

Grass and Forage Science, 1975
ABSTRACTIn an experiment, described earlier (19) to study the regrowth of Italian ryegrass following a cut in late April, the N and nitrate‐N content of herbage at 3 levels of applied N followed a similar pattern to that noted in earlier years in Cambridge. N content, however, did not fall to such a low level as in Cambridge.

Mixtures of Persian clover with Italian ryegrass or barley-Italian ryegrass for annual forage
Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1997In the interior of British Columbia, spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum var. italicum Beck.) are intercropped with fertilizer N as a 1-yr break before reseeding irrigated alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). Persian clover (Trifolium resupinatum L.) was seeded with barley and ryegrass or only ryegrass to determine its

Midmar—A new diploid Italian ryegrass cultivar
Proceedings of the Annual Congresses of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa, 1976A new diploid cultivar of Lolium multiflorum Lam., South Africa's most important temperate forage grass species, has recently been released by the Department of Agricultural Technical Services (Natal Region). Named Midmar, the cultivar was evolved from a wide range of local and exotic accessions by the application of standard grass breeding techniques.

Extrachromosomal
AbstractBackgroundAn Italian ryegrass population from Arkansas, USA developed glyphosate resistance due to 5‐enolpyruvylshikimate‐3‐phosphate synthase (EPSPS) gene amplification. The plants in this population with approximately 70 EPSPS copies were used in the present study for the physical mapping of amplified copies of EPSPS gene to determine the ...

Interaction between BSM-contaminated soils and Italian ryegrass
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 2012The interaction among the bensulfuron-methyl, growth of Italian ryegrass, and soil chemical/biochemical/microbiological parameters was investigated in a microcosm experiment. The bensulfuron-methyl added to the soil can be rapidly degraded by certain fungi and actinomycetes present in the original paddy rice soil.
