Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Unveiling the limits of precision in iterative MINFLUX

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy
AbstractIn single‐molecule microscopy, a big question is how precisely we can estimate the location of a single molecule. Our research shows that by using iterative localisation microscopy and factoring in the prior information, we can boost precision and reduce the number of photons needed.

The central limit theorem for empirical processess on V-C classes: a majorizing measure approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Alexander (1987) gave necessary and sufficient conditions for the central limit theorem for empirical processes on Vapnik-Cervonenkis classes of functions.

A Prospective Study of Individuals at Risk of Multiple Sclerosis Informs the Design of Primary Prevention Studies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

The Logic of Contingent Actuality

open access: yesErgo, An Open Access Journal of Philosophy
Current orthodoxy in modal logic and metaphysics has it that actuality is non-contingent in the following sense: for all p, if actually, p, then necessarily, actually, p. Call this thesis (Actuality) Necessitism and its negation (Actuality) Contingentism.

The limits of Buchstab's iteration sieve

open access: yesIndagationes Mathematicae (Proceedings), 1980
AbstractAn analysis is presented leading to explicit equations for the limits of the Buchstab iteration sieve. Moreover, the limits are computed for some values of the relevant parameter κ.

The size of the largest fluctuations in a market model with Markovian switching

open access: yes, 2009
This paper considers the size of the large fluctuations of a stochastic differential equation with Markovian switching. We concentrate on processes which obey the Law of the Iterated Logarithm, or obey upper and lower iterated logarithm growth bounds on ...

Investigations in Quantum Computing: Causality and Graph Isomorphism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this thesis I explore two different types of limits on the time complexity of quantum computation---that is, limits on how much time is required to perform a given class of quantum operations on a quantum system. Upper limits can be found by explicit

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

Sex Representation in US Stroke Clinical Trials: A Decade of Trends and Challenges

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stroke remains a major cause of disability and mortality in the US, with significant sex‐based disparities, and females remain underrepresented in stroke clinical trials. We aimed to examine sex representation in US‐based stroke clinical trials, identify trial characteristics associated with higher female enrollment (≥ 50%), and ...
