On Some Convergence Properties of the Modified Ishikawa Scheme for Asymptotic Demicontractive Self-Mappings with Matricial Parameterizing Sequences

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2018
This paper is focused on the modified Ishikawa iterative scheme by admitting that the parameterizing sequences might be vectors of distinct components.

Horospheres and iterates of holomorphic maps

open access: yesMathematische Zeitschrift, 1988
Let \(D\) be a bounded strictly convex \(C^ 2\) domain of \({\mathbb{C}}^ n\), and \(f: D\to D\) a holomorphic map. The aim of this paper is to desribe the behavior of the sequence of iterates of \(f\). We shall prove that (a) if \(f\) has a fixed point \(z_ 0\in D\), then the sequence of iterates converges iff \(df_{zo}\) has no eigenvalues \(\lambda\)

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

A New Robust Iterative Scheme Applied in Solving a Fractional Diffusion Model for Oxygen Delivery via a Capillary of Tissues

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we constructed a new and robust fixed point iterative scheme called the UO iterative scheme for the approximation of a contraction mapping. The scheme converges strongly to the fixed point of a contraction mapping.

Quantifying the Impact of Ocrelizumab on Paramagnetic Rim Lesions in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Paramagnetic rim lesions (PRLs) are a subset of chronic active multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions marked by iron‐laden microglia and macrophages. Ocrelizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting CD20+ B cells, suppresses acute MS activity, but its effect on PRLs remains unclear. In a longitudinal study of 29 ocrelizumab‐treated patients with at least

The System of Mixed Equilibrium Problems for Quasi-Nonexpansive Mappings in Hilbert Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
We first introduce the iterative procedure to approximate a common element of the fixed-point set of two quasinonexpansive mappings and the solution set of the system of mixed equilibrium problem (SMEP) in a real Hilbert space.

Longitudinal Assessment of Biomarkers in ALS: Discriminative Biomarkers for Disease Progression and Survival

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To assess the association and discriminative performance of serum biomarkers with clinical disease progression and survival in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Methods This retrospective study, conducted at Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, TX, used longitudinal serum samples collected between January 2018 and ...

The General Hybrid Approximation Methods for Nonexpansive Mappings in Banach Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
We introduce two general hybrid iterative approximation methods (one implicit and one explicit) for finding a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping which solving the variational inequality generated by two strongly positive bounded linear operators ...

Preferences for Posttraumatic Osteoarthritis Prevention Strategies in Individuals With Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent posttraumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury. Methods Participants with a history of
