A multicentre analysis of efficacy, safety and molecular response correlates of fostamatinib in warm autoimmune haemolytic anaemia and Evans syndrome

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Fostamatinib had 46% durable response, with 73% steroid reduction, in this multicentre retrospective study of refractory wAIHA/ES. Hypertension, gastrointestinal (GI) distress and neutropenia occurred in 23%. Only one patient required drug discontinuation and one patient dose reduction.

The N=2(4) string is self-dual N=4 Yang-Mills

open access: yes, 1992
N=2 string amplitudes, when required to have the Lorentz covariance of the equivalent N=4 string, describe a self-dual form of N=4 super Yang-Mills in 2+2 dimensions.

MicroRNAs as potential architects of immune dysregulation and megakaryocytic failure in immune thrombocytopenia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a complex autoimmune disorder characterized by accelerated destruction of peripheral platelets and impaired megakaryopoiesis. While the cellular effectors, dysregulated T cells, hyperactive B cells and phagocytic macrophages are well characterized, the upstream epigenetic mechanisms orchestrating this ...

The association of thrombocytopenia with haematological malignancy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
This review article discusses the interplay of immune dysregulation, clonality, and immunosuppressive therapies in immune thrombocytopenia and how this links to the risk of misattribution versus the development of haematological malignancy. Unresolved questions and directions for future research are also discussed. Isolated thrombocytopenia is commonly

Short Term Outcome of High Dose Dexamethasone Versus Prednisone In Children With Acute Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura: A Single Center Trial [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Sciences Journal
Background: Corticosteroids are the first line treatment of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). While high dose dexamethasone (HD-DXM) can be used as a first line therapy in adults, data about its use in children is scarce.

General Determination of Phases in Leptonic Mass Matrices

open access: yes, 1993
We construct new invariants and give several theorems which determine in general (i) the number of physically meaningful phases in charged lepton and neutrino mass matrices and (ii) which elements of these matrices can be rendered real by rephasings.

Platelet Transfusion Is Associated With Increased Thrombosis and In‐Hospital Mortality Among Patients Hospitalized With Platelet Consumptive Disorders

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Platelet transfusion is commonly used to reduce bleeding risk in platelet consumptive disorders. However, platelets may also promote thromboinflammatory pathways, and contemporary data evaluating the association between platelet transfusion, thrombosis, and mortality in this population are limited.
