Image patch analysis of sunspots and active regions. II. Clustering via matrix factorization
Separating active regions that are quiet from potentially eruptive ones is a key issue in Space Weather applications. Traditional classification schemes such as Mount Wilson and McIntosh have been effective in relating an active region large scale ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Molecular Identification of Fusarium proliferatum from toenails: A case report
Fusarium is a saprophytic fungus which is broadly disseminated in soil, plant debris and other organic substrates. These fungi can affect indigenous tissue in immunocompromised patients and result in some fungal infections such as Onychomycosis, bone and

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Application of PCR-RFLP to Rapid Identification of the Main Pathogenic Dermatophytes from Clinical Specimens [PDF]
Background: In the present study, a PCR-RFLP based molecular technique was designed to rapid identification of dermatophytes in clinical specimens. Skin scrapings obtained from human cases suspected to dermatophytosis were studied in order to identify ...
