In this review of ivermectin resistance, Wesley Shoop discusses the definition of resistance, catalogs all known cases of ivermectin resistance, argues that overmectins and milbemycins belong in the same action family, discusses the possibility of resistance in the filariae, and suggests that detection of ivermectin resistance is the area where future ...

Coagulation abnormalities and ivermectin
Annals of Tropical Medicine & Parasitology, 1992Prothrombin ratios were measured 13-16 days after treatment in 148 subjects from Sierra Leone taking part in a double-blind placebo-controlled trial of ivermectin. Prolonged prothrombin ratios were observed more frequently in the ivermectin group, although this difference was not significant and no patients suffered bleeding complications.

Ivermectin as a systemic insecticide
Parasitology Today, 1989Like many broad-spectrum drugs, the antiparasitic agent ivermectin is not equally effective in the treatment of all parasitic infestations. Predicting arthropod susceptibility relies not only on an understanding of insect and acarine biology, but also on an appreciation of the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug which can be profoundly influenced by
