Oocytes Development in Ixodid Tick of the Genus Dermacentor
Introduction. Ixodid ticks are the carriers of many infectious and parasitic diseases. Transmissible tick-borne diseases include borreliosis, viral encephalitis, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis and babesiosis, they can be dangerous for both humans and animals.

Introduction. Borrelia miyamotoi is a pathogen causing erythema-free ixodid tick-borne borreliosis (ITBB), a disease widespread in Russia. The genome of B. miyamotoi contains genes of multiple variable major proteins (Vmps). Vmps fall into two families —

Tick‐borne relapsing fever as a potential veterinary medical problem
Tick‐Borne Relapsing Fever is emerging as an important veterinary medical problem. Abstract Tick‐borne relapsing fever (TBRF) caused by the bacteria Borrelia, is poorly documented in veterinary medicine. Given the widespread presence of the soft tick vectors – Ornithodoros and the recently discovered hard tick vectors, as well as their close ...

Background. Ixodid tick-borne borrelioses (ITBB) is the most prevalent in Northern Hemisphere group of transmissible Spirochaetal infections, ecologically connected with Ixodid ticks. ITBB are etiologically associated with several agents, which determine epidemiological and clinical manifestations of these diseases.

We evaluated the utility of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto (Bb) peptide C6 for serologic confirmation of Ixodid Tick‐Borne Borrelioses (ITBB) in Russia. Serum samples (N = 1089) were from erythema migrans (EM) (N = 327) and the EM‐free (EMF) patients (N = 115); in some patients, the disease was accompanied by human granulocytic anaplasmosis or tick‐

First detection of Borrelia miyamotoi in Ixodes ricinus ticks from northern Italy
Background Borrelia miyamotoi is a spirochete transmitted by several ixodid tick species. It causes a relapsing fever in humans and is currently considered as an emerging pathogen. In Europe, B.

Soluble cysteine‐rich tick saliva proteins Salp15 and Iric‐1 fromE. coli
Tick saliva proteins Salp15 and Iric‐1 promote tick feeding and pathogen transmission. We established the first bacterial expression system for soluble Salp15 and Iric‐1. Using this system we mapped monoclonal antibody epitopes on Salp15 and Iric‐1. We defined the interaction sites with Borrelia outer surface protein C (OspC).
