The crystal structure and small-angle X-ray analysis of CsdL/TcdA reveal a new tRNA binding motif in the MoeB/E1 superfamily.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Cyclic N6-threonylcarbamoyladenosine ('cyclic t6A', ct(6)A) is a non-thiolated hypermodification found in transfer RNAs (tRNAs) in bacteria, protists, fungi and plants. In bacteria and yeast cells ct(6)A has been shown to enhance translation fidelity and

Spatial and Temporal Patterns of Extreme Hourly Rainfall in the Hawaiian Islands

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
The extreme rainfall trends in Hawaiʻi were revealed by hourly rainfall data: Across islands, Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi Island had larger events at a return period. Annual maximum series of 15 gauges showed significant positive trends. While extreme rainfall trends show increases or decreases regionally, the trends varied with rainfall duration.

Availability of a Keystone Plant Resource Reduces Niche Overlap and Drives Distinct Species‐Specific Changes in Niche Breadth Among Small Rodents

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We investigated how three rodent species respond to the seasonal availability of Araucaria angustifolia seeds. While Oligoryzomys spp. increased seed consumption and abundance during seed production, the more insectivorous Akodon paranaensis maintained a broader diet.

Estimating National and Foreign Trade Elasticities Using Generalized Transport Costs

open access: yesJournal of Regional Science, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 471-496, March 2025.
ABSTRACT We introduce the definition of two distinct trade elasticities corresponding to imports from regions located in the same country (national elasticities) and foreign regions located in other countries (foreign elasticities). We resort to a three‐tier nested CES utility structure to derive the corresponding demand gravity equations.
