On general series-product identities [PDF]
[[abstract]]We derive the general series-product identities from which we deduce several applications, including an identity of Gauss, the generalization of Winquist's identity by Carlitz and Subbarao, an identity for , the quintuple product identity ...

ABSTRACT In this paper, we assess the performance of adaptive and nested factorized sparse approximate inverses as smoothers in multilevel V‐cycles, when smoothing is performed following the Chebyshev iteration of the fourth kind, for the efficient solution of linear systems arising from a conforming discretization of higher‐order partial differential ...

Limited PFOA degradation was observed under non‐thermal plasma treatment alone. When coupled with Fe‐functionalized activated carbon, a broader distribution of degradation products was detected. Although more research is needed to establish mechanistic impacts and treatment performance, this hybrid configuration represents an air‐fed plasma–carbon ...

Identities for Analogous Ramanujan's Functions by Jacobi's Triple Product Identity
From a continued fraction analogous to Rogers-Ramanujan continued fraction we have theta functions analogous to Ramanujan’s functions G(q) and H(q). We find certain identities for these analogous theta functions using Jacobi’s triple product identity, thus having a unified approach. We also find some modular equations.

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Deforming the Double‐Scaled SYK and Reaching the Stretched Horizon From Finite Cutoff Holography
ABSTRACT We study the properties of the double‐scaled SYK (DSSYK) model under chord Hamiltonian deformations based on finite cutoff holography for general dilaton gravity theories with Dirichlet boundaries. The formalism immediately incorporates a lower‐dimensional analog of TT¯(+Λ2)$\text{T}\overline{\text{T}}(+\Lambda _2)$ deformations, denoted T2 ...

Isoperimetric inequalities on slabs with applications to cubes and Gaussian slabs
Abstract We study isoperimetric inequalities on “slabs”, namely weighted Riemannian manifolds obtained as the product of the uniform measure on a finite length interval with a codimension‐one base. As our two main applications, we consider the case when the base is the flat torus R2/2Z2$\mathbb {R}^2 / 2 \mathbb {Z}^2$ and the standard Gaussian measure

This paper presents a finite element method for simulating highly viscoelastic flows of pure polymer melts using the Elastic Viscous Stress Splitting formulation. The method avoids higher‐order derivatives in the weak formulation by reformulating the convective term in the constitutive equation.

Can processes make relationships work? The Triple Helix between structure and action [PDF]
This contribution seeks to explore how complex adaptive theory can be applied at the conceptual level to unpack Triple Helix models. We use two cases to examine this issue – the Finnish Strategic Centres for Science, Technology & Innovation (SHOKs) and ...
