ELEMENTS: A high-order finite element library in C++
We discuss the creation and implementation of a generalized library, named ELEMENTS, of mathematical functions for supporting a very broad range of element types including: linear, quadratic, and cubic serendipity elements in 2D and 3D; high-order ...

Matrix valued Jacobi polynomials
The author finds a matrix valued weight for Jacobi orthogonal polynomials, which satisfy an explicit differential equation of Jabobi type. An application to spherical functions is discussed. The Bochner problem of finding all families of orthogonal polynomials that are eigenfunctions of some second order differential operator is considered.

A New Inverse Eigenvalue Problem for Jacobi Matrices and Corresponding Mass-Spring System
Introduction Many problems in sciences and engineering can be studied by mathematical models. These models are classified as direct problems and inverse problems.

Spectrum of Lyapunov exponents in non-smooth systems evaluated using orthogonal perturbation vectors
This paper covers application of the novel method of Lyapunov exponents (LEs) spectrum estimation in non smooth mechanical systems. In the presented method, LEs are obtained from a Poincaré map.

Block Jacobi matrices and Titchmarsh-Weyl function [PDF]
We collect some results and notions concerning generalizations for block Jacobi matrices of several concepts, which have been important for spectral studies of the simpler and better known scalar Jacobi case.

The Computational Solution of Generalized Inverse Eigenvalue Problem for Pseudo-Jacobi Matrix
This paper is concerned with two generalized inverse eigenvalue problems for a kind of pseudo-Jacobi matrix. From a non-Hermite matrix, an r×r Jacobi matrix, two distinct real eigenvalues, and part of the corresponding eigenvectors, an n×n pseudo-Jacobi ...

Photon‐Sphere Modes in Curved Optical Microcavities: A Black‐Hole Analogue Laser
An optical analogue of a Schwarzschild black hole is realized using curved microcavities that preserve light‐like geodesics. A new family of laser modes confined around the photon sphere is identified alongside conventional whispering‐gallery modes. Analytical theory, numerical simulations, and experiments reveal curvature‐induced confinement, enabling
