Jamming in hierarchical networks [PDF]
We study the Biroli-Mezard model for lattice glasses on a number of hierarchical networks. These networks combine certain lattice-like features with a recursive structure that makes them suitable for exact renormalization group studies and provide an alternative to the mean-field approach.

Recent years have witnessed a rise in Game Jams - organized events to create playable prototypes in a very short time frame. Game Jams offer a unique and quick way to prototype games. Beyond that, we believe Game Jams can also be seen as a design research method, situated in the research-through-design tradition, to create knowledge in a fast-paced ...

Aerial photogrammetry to characterise and numerically model an ice jam in Southern Quebec
Collecting data on the dynamic breakup of a river's ice cover is a notoriously difficult task. However, such data are necessary to reconstruct the events leading to the formation of ice jams and calibrate numerical ice jam models.

Jamming Bandits—A Novel Learning Method for Optimal Jamming [PDF]
Can an intelligent jammer learn and adapt to unknown environments in an electronic warfare-type scenario? In this paper, we answer this question in the positive, by developing a cognitive jammer that adaptively and optimally disrupts the communication between a victim transmitter–receiver pair.

The data in this article focus on the F11 Receptor (F11R/JAM-A; Junctional Adhesion Molecule-A; JAM-A, F11R), a cell adhesion protein constitutively expressed on the membrane surface of circulating platelets and localized within the tight junctions of ...

Jam Eyes: A Traffic Jam Awareness and Observation System Using Mobile Phones
Traffic jam is a very common and very annoying thing in urban traffic. The most annoying part in traffic jams is not that you have to wait for a long time but that you do not even know how long you have to wait and what causes the traffic jam.

Overexpression of JAM-A in non-small cell lung cancer correlates with tumor progression. [PDF]
The objective of the current study was to determine the clinical significance of junctional adhesion molecule A (JAM-A) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the biological function of JAM-A in NSCLC cell lines.

Jamming in granular polymers [PDF]
We examine the jamming transition in a two-dimensional granular polymer system using compressional simulations. The jamming density ϕ_c decreases with increasing length of the granular chain due to the formation of loop structures, in excellent agreement with recent experiments.
