Uncertainties exist in the biosphere–climate feedbacks in the Arctic. Remote and ground measurements play complementary roles in detecting possible changes. A critical next step is identification of key drivers of the global changes for future projections. ABSTRACT Positive biosphere–climate feedbacks are likely to amplify the Arctic warming, yet major

Pest categorisation of Mycodiella laricis‐leptolepidis
Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Plant Health (PLH) performed a pest categorisation of Mycodiella laricis‐leptolepidis, a well‐defined and distinguishable fungal species of the family Mycosphaerellaceae.

Development and Characterization of Polymorphic Genic-SSR Markers in Larix kaempferi
New simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were developed in the Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi) using unigene sequences for further genetic diversity studies and the genetic improvement of breeding programs. One thousand two handred and thirty five (1235)

Two reaction pathways, Paths 1 and 2, are involved in H2O2 activation by Cu complexes with N3‐tridentate ligands, depending on the ease of bridging structure formation. In Path 1, hydroxy radical (HO•) is formed from a hydroperoxo Cu(II) intermediate. In Path 2, a relevant complex‐based μ‐O• bridged Cu(II)2 active species is formed from a bis‐μ‐oxo Cu ...

ABSTRACT The population distribution and habitat selection of top predators are critically important for species conservation and habitat management. While previous studies have identified environmental characteristics and food resources as factors influencing animal habitat selection, the roles of potential intra‐ and interspecific competition have ...

Block Shear Strength and Delamination of Cross-Laminated Timber Fabricated with Japanese Larch
Process parameters of cross-laminated timber (CLT) fabricated with Japanese larch were evaluated. The process parameters were designed by using an orthogonal test including pressure, glue consumption, and adhesive. Both delamination and block shear tests

Towards weather‐based forecasting of annual seed production in six European forest tree species
Synthesis and applications: Seed production can be predictable with a promising degree of accuracy for six European tree species in the year prior to seed rain, if combined with on‐site monitoring of seeds, phenology, and weather. This holds value for seed harvesters, nurseries and forest managers, and may inform orchard management and public health ...

Abstract An understanding of habitat use and levels of active behaviour is foundational to wildlife behaviour, ecology, conservation and management. These variables are commonly measured by tracking individuals in space and time using biologging. In principle, camera‐trap data also contain information about both activity level and habitat use; however,
