The First Global Catalog of Rockfall Locations on Mars

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 51, Issue 24, 28 December 2024.
Abstract Rockfalls are ubiquitous expressions of present‐day landscape evolution across the solar system. On Mars, their distribution has been proposed to indicate endo‐ and exogenic drivers, such as tectonic activity and solar‐driven thermal fatigue. Here, we present the first global catalog of 1,383 rockfall‐bearing locations on Mars, derived using ...

Influence of Solar Wind High‐Speed Streams on the Brazilian Low‐Latitude Ionosphere During the Descending Phase of Solar Cycle 24

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 22, Issue 12, December 2024.
Abstract This study investigates the Brazilian low‐latitude ionospheric response to CIR/HSS‐driven geomagnetic storms during the declining phase of solar cycle 24, from 2016 to 2017. In this period the geomagnetic storms were mostly moderate, SymHmin ≈ −72 nT, AEmax ≈ 1580 nT, Vswmax ≈ 690 km/s and lasted, on average, for 6 days.
