MICROSPOROGENESIS IN JATROPHA CURCAS L.

Acta Horticulturae, 2012
Jatropha curcas L. is an important oil crop for biofuel production. As such, the yield is commercially important and breeding programmes are focused to select and propagate high yielding individuals. Haploid plants are very useful in these programmes to produce true homozygotes in a short period of time.

In-situ transesterification of Jatropha curcas L. seeds using homogeneous and heterogeneous basic catalysts

Fuel, 2019
The in-situ or direct transesterification from non-edible Jatropha curcas L. (Jatropha) seeds is a suitable alternative to produce fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) in one-step.

Acute Toxicity Studies with Jatropha curcas L

Human Toxicology, 1986
The seeds of Jatropha curcas L. ingested accidentally by two children aged 3 and 5 years led to a clinical syndrome of restlessness, severe vomiting and dehydration. A systematic study of the seeds indicated that they produced toxic effects in mice. Macroscopic anal haemorrhage and death occurred when the seeds were administered with the feed.

Traditional detoxification of Jatropha curcas L. seeds

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2019
Jatropha curcas L. is a plant with high cultural significance for quilombola communities of Oriximiná (Pará State, Brazil). Although the plant is highly toxic, its seeds are used in these communities to treat tuberculosis and related diseases and symptoms. This study was designed to provide a scientific rationale for the traditional detoxification ...

A systematic evaluation of the mechanical extraction of Jatropha curcas L. oil for biofuels production

, 2020
This study focuses on the mechanical extraction of Jatropha curcas L. oil using a screw press type expeller. The extraction process was carried under different operating conditions to assess the impact on oil yield, oil recovery, extraction capacity ...

Crop water and irrigation requirements of Jatropha curcas L. in semi-arid conditions of Botswana: applying the CROPWAT model

Agricultural Water Management, 2019
Globally, second-generation biofuels have been promoted as an alternative fuel to fossil fuels. This shift in energy sources was envisaged to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, cut down greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and ultimately to relieve national ...

Ecophysiological responses of Jatropha curcas L. seedlings to simulated acid rain under different soil types.

Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2019
Acid rain is a global environmental problem. Acid rain can affect plants directly by damaging the leaves and indirectly by soil acidifying. Many studies have been conducted to investigate the impacts of acid rain on plant under a single soil type ...

RNAi Mediated curcin precursor gene silencing in Jatropha (Jatropha curcas L.)

Molecular Biology Reports, 2014
Curcin, a type I ribosomal inhibiting protein-RIP, encoded by curcin precursor gene, is a phytotoxin present in Jatropha (Jatropha curcas L.). Here, we report designing of RNAi construct for the curcin precursor gene and further its genetic transformation of Jatropha to reduce its transcript expression.

COMPUTATION STUDY OF JATROPHA CURCAS L. LEAVES

EPICENTRUM, 2022
Fever is a condition when the body temperature increases to more than 380C. Fever indicates the presence of a disease or other condition in the body. Fever generally occurs as a reaction of the immune system to fight viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infections that cause disease.

Chemical composition of essential oil of Jatropha curcas L. leaves and its antioxidant and antimicrobial activities

Industrial crops and products (Print), 2018
Jatropha curcas L. is a perennial energy crop in the Euphorbiaceae family that received much attention for its bio-oil multiple uses. This study was designed to determine the composition and antioxidant, antimicrobial activities of jatropha’s essential ...
