El metge Jaume Roig davant l’espill: fractures de la família burgesa

open access: yesMagnificat Cultura I Literatura Medievals

Managing quality, supplier selection, and cold‐storage contracts in agrifood supply chain through stochastic optimization

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 30, Issue 4, Page 1901-1930, July 2023., 2023
Abstract The quality of such processed agrifood products as dehydrated apple is related to the quality and variety of fresh harvested products and connected with wastage reduction throughout the agrifood supply chain. For this purpose, cold‐storage management is important to avoid or mitigate the quality decay of fresh products stored in refrigerated ...

Exaptation and vulnerability to introduced mammal herbivores on Balearic endemic flora

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 1117-1128, June 2023., 2023
Abstract Aim Introduced mammal herbivores are predicted to negatively affect insular flora. However, disentangling which particular traits (1) developed from exaptations and (2) are functional to avoid herbivory remains mainly unknown. This study aims to assess if the flora of continental islands with historic native herbivores are exapted to the ...

Incorporating pressure–volume traits into the leaf economics spectrum

open access: yesEcology Letters, Volume 26, Issue 4, Page 549-562, April 2023., 2023
We provide theoretical and empirical evidence for the coordination of pressure–volume traits and net CO2 assimilation and leaf structure. We measured these traits in 45 angiosperms and ferns, and showed strong correlations between mass‐based assimilation and capacitance and the turgor loss point.

Digital video electrochemistry (DVEC) applied to the study of Prussian Blue films

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 9, Issue 7, April 11, 2022., 2022
Caught on camera: The electrochemistry of a Prussian blue film deposited on a platinum modified electrode was studied in a potassium salt aqueous solution. Along one cyclic voltammetry, three systems of peaks were detected, and the digital video electrochemistry (DVEC) revealed the complex electrochromic changes involving intermediate species ...

SARS‐CoV‐2 infection and venous thromboembolism after surgery: an international prospective cohort study

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 77, Issue 1, Page 28-39, January 2022., 2022
Summary SARS‐CoV‐2 has been associated with an increased rate of venous thromboembolism in critically ill patients. Since surgical patients are already at higher risk of venous thromboembolism than general populations, this study aimed to determine if patients with peri‐operative or prior SARS‐CoV‐2 were at further increased risk of venous ...

Differences in biochemical, gas exchange and hydraulic response to water stress in desiccation tolerant and sensitive fronds of the fern Anemia caffrorum

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 231, Issue 4, Page 1415-1430, August 2021., 2021
Summary Desiccation tolerant plants can survive extreme water loss in their vegetative tissues. The fern Anemia caffrorum produces desiccation tolerant (DT) fronds in the dry season and desiccation sensitive (DS) fronds in the wet season, providing a unique opportunity to explore the physiological mechanisms associated with desiccation tolerance ...
