Papillary Cystadenocarcinoma of Ovary Presenting as Obstructive Jaundice: A Rare Presentation
Obstructive jaundice resulting from malignancy of gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary tract has been reported in various studies. Ovarian malignancy leading to obstructive jaundice due to portal lymphadenopathy is of rare occurrence.

On continuous distribution functions, minimax and best invariant estimators, and integrated balanced loss functions [PDF]
We consider the problem of estimating a continuous distribution function $F$, as well as meaningful functions $\tau(F)$ under a large class of loss functions. We obtain best invariant estimators and establish their minimaxity for H\"{o}lder continuous $\tau$'s and strict bowl-shaped losses with a bounded derivative.

Background. The treatment of patients with obstructive jaundice is still one of the topical issues, due to the continuing unsatisfactory results. This is largely facilitated by the dysfunction of the liver, the restoration of which, even with the ...

THE PATHOGENESIS OF EARLY OBSTRUCTIVE JAUNDICE
1. After experimental ligation of the bile ducts in dogs, two distinct processes are clearly manifested: first, the accumulation of the normally circulating bilirubin in the blood with its characteristic indirect Van den Bergh reaction for a period of ...

Depending on the level, at which bilirubin metabolism disorders occur, the following types of jaundice are identified: hemolytic, hepatocellular, obstructive. Hemolytic jaundice is characterized by increased levels of indirect bilirubin in the blood at a

Obstructions of Connectivity 2 for Embedding Graphs into the Torus [PDF]
The complete set of minimal obstructions for embedding graphs into the torus is still not determined. In this paper, we present all obstructions for the torus of connectivity 2. Furthermore, we describe the building blocks of obstructions of connectivity 2 for any orientable surface.

Obstructive jaundice and wound healing
Abstract Wound healing was studied in 95 jaundiced patients and 123 anicteric patients using skin prolylhydroxylase activity as an index of collagen synthesis. The mean(s.d.) value of skin prolylhydroxylase activity in jaundiced patients was significantly lower than that of controls in the preoperative period (40·1(19·2) versus 369·2(32 ...

Topological characterization of canonical Thurston obstructions [PDF]
Let f be an obstructed Thurston map with canonical obstruction \Gamma_f. We prove the following generalization of Pilgrim's conjecture: if the first-return map F of a periodic component C of the topological surface obtained from the sphere by pinching the curves of \Gamma_f is a Thurston map then the canonical obstruction of F is empty.
